Cardlytics, a commerce media platform, has named Chris Cheng as its new chief legal officer, overseeing the company’s legal and compliance activities.
Cheng enters the role with more than 20 years of legal experience having held similar roles at the likes of Zoom, Uber, Upwork and eBay. He most recently served as chief legal officer and corporate secretary at Iterable. He succeeds former chief legal officer Nick Lynton, who exited the role in July 2026.
Over at Nasdaq-listed Merchants Bank, Stephanie Cunningham has been announced as the bank’s new SVP, chief compliance officer.
Taking over from Carol Gassen, who has retired after a distinguished career, Cunningham will lead the bank’s enterprise-wide compliance program, overseeing regulatory compliance and community reinvestment across the organization’s banking and mortgage sectors.
Cunningham joins from Centra Credit Union where she held multiple leadership positions including SVP of risk management, VP of risk management and director of compliance. Earlier in her career, she served in number of roles at Ameriana Bank.
Elsewhere, Andrea Gacki has announced plans to step down as director of the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) to lead global sanctions compliance at Citigroup.
Gacki has led FinCEN since September 2023 and served in various roles at the Treasury Department, including as director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control, for more than 25 years.
She will stay with FinCEN until October 1, when she officially joins Citigroup.
Staying in the US, Figure Technology Solutions, a financial technology company, has named Brian Crist as its new chief legal officer and corporate secretary.
Reporting to CEO Michael Tannenbaum, Crist will lead Figure’s legal, compliance and corporate governance functions.
He joins Figure from FalconX, where he served as chief legal and compliance officer and corporate secretary, and has previously held senior leadership roles at Citi, eBay and Uber.
Over at digital business solutions provider, Conduent Anna Novoseletsky has been appointed as the company’s EVP, general counsel and secretary.
Before joining Conduent, Novoseletsky served as chief legal officer, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary at digital payments and software company Cantaloupe. Previously, she spent more than a decade at Discover Financial Services, serving as general counsel for its global payments business.
Elsewhere, Matthew Cushing has joined AI-native skills management platform Skillsoft as its new chief legal officer.
Reporting to CEO Ron Hovsepian, Cushing will lead the company's global legal organization.
Before joining Skillsoft, he held numerous executive positions at Pegasystems, including general counsel, chief legal officer and chief commercial officer. Prior to Pegasystems, Cushing was VP and general counsel of EnerNOC. He also served as VP, general counsel and secretary of Acme Packet.
Biopharmaceutical company, CytomX Therapeutics, has confirmed the appointment of Alejandra Carvajal as chief legal officer.
Most recently, Carvajal was the SVP, Chief legal officer and secretary at Mersana Therapeutics. Prior to this, she served as chief legal officer and secretary at Momenta Pharmaceuticals.
Before that she served as general counsel of Cerulean Pharma and prior to that she held several positions of increasing responsibility at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, a Takeda company.
Over at NYSE-listed Beacon Financial, John Eagan has been appointed to the role of general counsel and corporate secretary. Eagan succeeds William Gordon Prescott, who retired on July 31 after 18 years with the company.
In his new role, Eagan will serve as a member of the executive management committee and oversee all legal affairs for the company.
He most recently served as deputy general counsel and assistant secretary for the company. Before this, through the merger between Berkshire Hills Bancorp and Brookline Bancorp, he served as general counsel and corporate secretary of Washington Trust Bank and spent more than 15 years with People's United Bank.
Lastly, Nasdaq-listed First Busey Corporation (FBC) has announced that Michael Peluso has been appointed as general counsel.
Peluso is currently deputy general counsel for FBC and Busey Bank and replaces long-standing general counsel John Powers following his retirement from the role. Peluso has also succeeded Powers as FBC corporate secretary and as a member of the company’s executive leadership team.
He started his legal career at Sidley Austin LLP as part of the firm’s Global Finance group.
