Goldman Sachs has named Michael Bosworth as acting general counsel of the firm, taking over from former general counsel Kathryn Ruemmler.
Prior to his appointment, Bosworth served as partner and deputy general counsel for the firm, having joined in 2022. Before this he was a partner at Latham & Watkins and served as deputy assistant and deputy counsel to President Barack Obama and special counsel to the director of the FBI.
Ruemmler announced plans to exit the role in February of this year following the release of documents by the US Department of Justice which revealed her ties to the sex offender financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Over at enterprise technology company Kyndryl, Andrew Bonzani has been confirmed as the company’s new general counsel and secretary.
Bonzani most recently as EVP and general counsel at IGP before this he was SVP, general counsel and secretary at the same company. Prior to joining IPG, he worked at IBM in the legal department for 18 years, most recently as VP, assistant general counsel and secretary.
His appointment comes at the same time as the appointment of new CFO Ellen Johnson. Kyndryl’s chairman and CEO Martin Schroeter says: ‘Ellen and Andrew are experienced leaders in driving financial discipline, operational excellence and strong governance at global, public companies. Their complementary experience will further enhance Kyndryl's senior leadership team as we advance the company's growth strategy with differentiated services that support our customers' most complex challenges while taking disciplined actions to strengthen our business.’
Meanwhile, over at S&P Global, chief legal officer Steve Kemps has announced plans to retire from the company at the end of the year.
He will stay with the company as a special advisor to Martina Cheung, president and CEO, for the remainder of his time with the company.
Kemps joined S&P Global in 2016, previously serving as EVP and general counsel at Quanta Services. Earlier in his career, he held in-house legal leadership roles at Hess Retail Corporation, Kimberly-Clark Corporation and Dorsey & Whitney.
‘Steve has been a key advisor to me, the board of directors, and members of the executive leadership team for over a decade, providing excellent counsel and stability through periods of transition and transformation. His respect and influence go well beyond his areas of responsibility and throughout the enterprise. I wish him all the best in his next chapter,’ says Cheung.
Over at global fashion conglomerate PVH, Elisheva Hirshman has been named as chief legal officer starting from September 4.
Hirshman succeeds Mark Fischer, EVP, general counsel and secretary, who is retiring after 27 years with the company.
She currently serves as deputy general counsel and joined the company’s executive leadership team at the beginning of the year as part of its succession plan.
Hirshman joined PVH in 2016 as VP, associate general counsel, employment and litigation, before transitioning to the role of SVP, assistant general counsel, employment and litigation, and then deputy general counsel in February of this year.

Staying in the US, Nasdaq-listed ALX Oncology has confirmed the appointment of Michael Listgarten as general counsel.
Over the course of his career he has served in senior legal roles at the likes of Adamas Pharmaceuticals, Principia Biopharma and Genentech. Most recently, Listgarten worked as general counsel at RAPT Therapeutics.

Elsewhere, Nasdaq Stockholm-listed Essity has appointed Andreas Mattsson as its new chief legal officer and member of the company's executive management team.
He succeeds Mikael Schmidt, who is due to retire as of December 31. Mattsson will officially assume the role as of January 1, 2027, joining from Billerud, where he has served as general counsel since 2013. Prior to that, he worked for Law firm Cederquist.
