Novell legal chief jumps to IntraLinks

Scott Semel has joined IntraLinks to serve as the company’s executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.

semelPreviously, Semel, pictured left, was senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of Novell, a multinational software company. Prior to this, he served as chief legal officer and corporate secretary at Tele Atlas, a Netherlands-based Euronext company, where he provided digital mapping and navigation solutions.

Semel was also previously vice president, general counsel and secretary of Ascential Software, a provider of enterprise data integration, and vice president, general counsel and secretary of NaviSite.

The seasoned governance professional replaces David Curran, executive vice president of business and legal affairs, who stepped down as an executive of the company effective as of January 27, 2012.

Curran is expected to advise the software solutions company as a non-executive employee through March 31, 2012 and thereafter on a consulting basis through January 31, 2013.
