Former Kymera and Masonite legal counsel James Pelletier has taken up a new position at JBT Marel.
Pelletier will join the NYSE and Nasdaq Iceland-listed technology company, which provides solutions and services to the food and beverage industry, on June 30.
He has ‘more than two decades of legal and business leadership experience,’ a press release from JBT Marel states, noting that Pelletier most recently served as general counsel and chief compliance officer at specialty metals and coatings maker Kymera.
Prior to that, Pelletier held roles including senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Masonite, various legal roles at Barnes Group and associate counsel for United Technologies’ next-generation product family.
His legal career spans more than 20 years, during which time he has negotiated or drafted more than $1 bn worth of commercial contracts and led over $100 mn in successful litigation or arbitration awards, Pelletier writes on his LinkedIn profile.
In his new role at JBT Marel, Pelletier will lead the company’s legal and compliance teams and serve as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership team and board of directors, says the firm.
