Prabha Sipi Bhandari has joined Paychex as the company’s chief legal officer, chief ethics officer and secretary.
Bhandari most recently was senior vice president, deputy general counsel and corporate secretary at American International Group (AIG). In that role, she oversaw the company’s NYSE and SEC compliance and legal support of capital markets, M&A, cyber-security, privacy, innovation, intellectual property, information technology, procurement and real estate matters.
Before joining AIG, Bhandari was senior vice president and principal deputy general counsel at Freddie Mac. Before that, she spent more than a decade at Deutsche Bank in senior positions managing legal groups covering M&A and conflicts resolution, before being promoted to managing director and general counsel of Deutsche Bank Securities.
Bhandari was previously vice president and associate general counsel at Viacom, and before that was an M&A associate at law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell. She began her legal career as a judicial clerk for the Hon John Duhé of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Bhandari was a member of the judging panel for Governance Intelligence’s 2022 Corporate Governance Awards. Submissions for this year’s awards are due by July 26.
