Encore Capital Group is promoting Andrew Asch to the position of senior vice president and general counsel, effective August 15.
Asch has been with the specialty finance company since 2010 and is currently senior vice president and general counsel of Encore’s subsidiary Midland Credit Management (MCM). In his new role he will report to Encore’s president and CEO, Ashish Masih.
Asch’s move will follow the retirement of Greg Call, executive vice president, general counsel and chief administrative officer. Call also joined Encore in 2010 and has since overseen company functions including legal, enterprise risk management, internal audit, government relations, human resources and information security. He will continue with the company until September 1 to aid the transition.
PREVIOUS ROLES
Before joining MCM, Asch had been senior counsel at Roll International Corporation (now The Wonderful Company) and an attorney at law firms Katten Muchin Rosenman and Fulbright & Jaworski.
From 1999 until 2008, Call worked at Gateway, most recently as vice president and general counsel. From 2009 until joining Encore, he was a shareholder of New Hope Legal Center. He was an attorney at law firm Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCoy (now Milbank) from 1994 until 1999.
Masih says in a statement: ‘Andrew has been an integral part of Encore’s success for more than a decade. His deep knowledge of our business and the environment in which we operate makes him a perfect choice to take on this new responsibility. I also want to thank Greg for his many years of service to Encore. He has played a critical role in helping our organization grow into the global industry leader that it is today.’
